I truly got up on the wrong syde of the bed.
There I was, dreaming of doing the wyld thing with April Scott,(aka Daisy Duke, Dukes-of-Hazzard, the Beginnings) when this damn thing flew right on top of me.
Apparently nobody told this green winged character that flying in the rain, in April, at night was wrong. What kind of critter was it? A dang Praying Mantis .
Okay then.
Now this may sound a bit unAmerican but hear me out here.
I proudly served in the Unions USMC from 1978 till 2003-1/2 when an injury sidelined my Union military career. So I got hauled back to do some administrative crap. Only good thing about that was , I got in with Armed Forces Radio which didn’t hurt my feelings.
When the chance to fly came around I jumped at it. Although it was a joint training op, at HAFB it was again in the air.
By mid 2005 my usefulness was un-needed so, I was in Utah. The rest many of you know.
In Utah I regained my bearings on things of my southern ancestors. After doing a lot of roots investigations, found my great grandpappy was General Montgomery of the Confederate Army. Hey this became more than just an extension of the Dukes-of-Hazzard, and just slightly askew of the Hazzard County Knytes(aka:Knytes-of-Anarchy).
So in 2008 after the decision was made to take the club in a new direction, we all decided to make us a official southern heritage preservation/education organization as well.
Now the UnAmerican part is this. And its becoming more so every day.
I no longer in clear conscience can salute an American flag, or mutter the Star Spangled Banner, but put our official flag of the CSA (Confederate States of America) >>>
out and sing Dixie and you’ll have my hand over my heart and my head bowed.
Hey once I was an uneducated child in school, I thought Abe Lincoln was a good man and so on, but then too , once I was a Mormon and did not know any better. I saw the light, became a born again Christian, and pledged my allegiance to the Southern States.
In the years that have followed I have become more educated. With the help, of such things as our radio stations business and programming model www.dixiebroadcasting.com , more over I have listened with serious ears to the lectures, and speeches there on.
The corruption in our nations capitol, the corruption in many of our union states governments, the pay off’s the rip offs the theft of huge amounts of our money in taxes, and an illegal Internal Revenue Service is just part of a long list.
Hey I put my life out on the line for this nation, only to be discharged for a busted knee. What I came home to was no respect whatsoever, I never wanted a parade, but damn a few thanks for your service would have been good. As well as deserved. Okay I was away, bills piled up, no company I dealt with like cable services, phone companies, even power companies have ever thought that there is no payment place for military aboard a carrier, or downtown Bagdad. Think one could give me a break ? No.
The list goes on, and while we are working to reunify ourselves with Ray at Dixie Broadcasting, we are doing our own in the same light. Essentially doing what Ray does now, only with a bit more spice.
For those that have flown in America’s military with southern roots, this blog is for you. But more we will be doing some education here as well.
One great place for some of ya’ll to start is by going to www.albensonjr.com , take a gander at the books, available. High School teachers, on the same sight there is a historical test that you can give your students.
The list goes on and I’ll go into this on further entries, but for now, we fly for Dixie.
It’s more than a Dukes-of-Hazzard extension. The preservation of southern heritage is also a preservation of our nations heritage, and liberties, without oppression and thwarting the American spirit. How about a national holiday for President Davis, the first President of the CSA? How about a holiday celebrating Robert E Lee’s birthday? This is what we stand for, and I hope you’ll join in with us, and if at all possible I’ll try to mend fences with Ray at Dixie Broadcasting.
